Joseph Pikula, APC

Joseph has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LaGrange College. He has experience in providing clinical services to numerous individuals in both individual and group settings. Joseph enjoys working with kids ages 5 and up, teens, college students, and adults. He has worked with clients who suffer from anxiety, depression, anger management, adjustment disorders, substance abuse, and psychotic disorders, to name a few. He draws from Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify their needs, and then then make the necessary changes to fulfill those needs. Joseph has completed Level One Theraplay training, and he enjoys using Theraplay techniques when working with parents and kids.

Joseph believes psychotherapy should be unique to each individual, however it should have a holistic foundation; meaning that the mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of an individual’s life should be addressed to help them develop a deeper understanding of themselves. His goal is to help his clients develop healthy ways of coping with the stressors that arise as they transition through the various stages of life, so that they can experience every moment in a happier and healthier way.

Joseph is practicing under the supervision of David Markwell, LPC, LCMHC, ACS, CPCS.
