Jessica Thompson, LCSW
Jessica holds a Master of Social Work and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Troy University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples across a variety of treatment settings and has supported individuals navigating concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity development, emotional regulation, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and personality-related challenges.
Jessica’s approach is trauma-informed, psychodynamic, and person-centered, drawing from cognitive behavioral interventions when appropriate. She believes that meaningful change occurs when clients are able to understand the connection between their past experiences and present-day thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
Jessica values an attachment-focused perspective and integrates evidence-based approaches for trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and relationship healing. Drawing from Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), she helps clients understand longstanding patterns, heal attachment wounds, and develop more secure connections with themselves and the people they care about.
Jessica is passionate about early childhood emotional regulation, parenting support, trauma recovery, attachment-focused work, and serving the LGBTQIA+ community. She strives to create an affirming therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to build meaningful and lasting change.
